A bit about me
My motivation in becoming a therapist is due to the transformative experience I personally had in therapy. I know how powerful having a therapeutic space can be.
I have experience working with people who want help with LGBTQ+ issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, and spirituality. As a gay man, I understand that unique and often hidden experiences matter.
I am EMDR trained and pull from a variety of emotion focused theories including but not limited to parts work, Narrative Therapy, and Polyvagal Theory. Through these approaches I help clients listen to their bodies, find relief, and expand their emotional capacity. I believe that through awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and bodies, change can begin to occur. The therapeutic relationship of the counselor/client is uniquely suited to help facilitate this change.
My hope is to create a space where there is room for everything you are feeling. My approach is warm, empathetic, and gentle.
Working Together
Am I a good fit for therapy?
What diagnosis do you work with?
While a diagnosis is necessary for insurance, my approach focuses on healing wounds that are causing symptoms rather than focusing solely on the symptoms whether that be anxiety, depression, or PTSD.
If you are looking for help specifically with BPD, schizophrenia, substance abuse disorder, or autism I’d be happy to help you find someone who specializes in working with those experiences.
What is therapy like?
My goal to be curious about and care for you so that you can grow in doing that for yourself. This comes in the form of asking you questions, encouraging you to feel, helping you express, and helping expand your thought process.
How much does therapy cost?
For individuals using insurance cost will depend on your plan’s co-pay and deductible. If you are unsure, you can call your insurance and ask if mental health services are covered.
If I do not accept your insurance or you’d rather not use it, you can out of pocket. See the FAQ section for self pay rates.
I believe everyone can benefit from therapy although there are many different types of therapy. My ideal client is someone who wants to be curious about themselves as has capacity to begin emotional processing.
These words share more a bit more about my approach to therapy.

This is the act of noticing and responding to your verbal and non verbal cues in a kind and empathetic way. Being attuned to by another human is one of our most fundamental needs.
-
I will often ask, “how is your body feeling in this moment?”. Our body is what gives us information about our feelings. Our brain gives us language, but our body is what holds the sensation of the feeling. Many of us have not had space to freely explore what our body is saying.
-
I create space for the biggest thoughts and feelings you have and hold them with you.

I will talk a lot about the nervous system! We are always scanning our environment for cues of safety or cues of threat. When we pay attention to what our nervous system is telling us we better care for our selves.
-
I believe it is deeply good to be with you. That means I consider it a privilege to witness your tears, hold your stories, and celebrate your joys. Doing the work of exploring your inner world is inherently good.
-
I believe the work of therapy to be sacred. Whether you identify with any kind of spirituality or not, caring for yourself in this way is worthy of deep respect and reverence.
